Christmas Rock Candy
Here is a yummy recipe that I love to make. Pick your favorite flavor (or three) and make a batch for your family.
3 c. sugar
1 c. Karo
1/2 c. hot water
Food Coloring (if wanted)
Flavoring Oil (1 dram/1 teaspoon)
Bring above to hard crack (300 degrees). Remove from heat and add one dram (1 teaspoon) oil flavoring. Pour onto a cookie sheet lightly greased or sprinkled with powdered sugar . Cool and break or cut with scissors.
I usually break it into pieces and then toss in powdered sugar to keep them from sticking together. I also will color the candy according to the flavor; example: strawberry would be red, banana would be yellow, etc.
