Back to School and Funny things toddlers say

Well today I let Nate go back to school. When I dropped him off this morning he began by acting all shy (which he is not). Once he saw his friend Lucas he was good to go. I called back at lunch time to check on him and the teacher said he was doing great and that he had just laid down for a nap.

On a side note, his new favorite snack has become honey buns (I know bad bad mama). When DH woke Nate up this morning Nate asked him for some chocolate milk. Dh asked if he wanted breakfast and Nate replied "No Dad I just ate a honey bun" now keep in mind he had JUST woke up. Dh and I got a good laugh out of it, must have been a great dream honey bun lol.

You got me good!

Nate seems to be full of crazy phrases lately. Yesterday I was wetting his hair in the back to get it to stop sticking up. I was wetting the comb and then combing his hair down. Some of the water drops fell onto Nates shoulder and her promptly notifies me

"Wow Mom you got me good!"

I thought I was gonna cry I was laughing so hard.

The Mommy Test

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked.

"Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Mommy, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly. "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.

"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy."

"Exactly" I replied back with a big smile on my face.

My mother sent this email to me and I loved it.

Scissors?!?!

I got this in a email today and had to share. As a mom of a young child I can totally see this being drawn. Here is the message from the email:

If you know someone with small children or you are a teacher.....you will love this! Do you have a pair like these? I can certainly imagine seeing this one proudly displayed on the mother's fridge at home...

Quote from the mom:"This is my kindergartener's artistic rendering of a pair of scissors." I wonder what his teacher thought. I allowed myself just a small smirk when I saw it. I waited until he was out of the room before I started crying, from laughing so hard."
