Sounds exciting huh ... lol.
Today was my third set of check-off's for nursing school. We had to pass proficiencies for the enema's, NG tubes, and foley's (with sterile technique). I was very nervous as we have only had hands on practice for ONE day.
We also had our first dress rehearsal wearing our uniforms. I must say that who ever thought it was a good idea to have students wear WHITE uniforms is silly. Just one betadine swab and those pants are trash!
Almost every one in our class passed check-off's .... I passed as well.
I've also gotten a new site designer for Ballyhoo Creations and will be debuting the new design this coming week. Be sure to check back as I'm going to offer a special discount to the blog readers! There will be a lot of new designs especially Christmas/Hanukkah designs!
Have a great evening!!

I am working feverishly to get all of the new holiday designs completed and up on the website. There are some holiday cards shown on the site right now but I am hoping to have the new designs added very very soon.
I'd love to create a custom holiday card for you. I do take pre-orders as well if you might be interested in that.
Check out Ballyhoo Creations and see if we have a design that you like (custom work is available at no extra charge).

Ah it's been crazy here. I'm not sure where in the rule book it says that your child must start running a fever of 104 AFTER 6pm when all doctors offices are closed, but it happens every time!
We took a nice family trip to Nashville the last weekend in June and had a great time. After being home for 2 days Nate developed a really high fever. I treated with Tylenol and Motrin around the clock for 3 days. When he wasn't getting better I decided to take him to the doctor. Well turns out that he's getting the croup. Who gets the croup in July?!?!
So he started steroids and let me tell ya .... it's been so much fun that I can't contain myself (insert sarcasm!).
I'm having surgery tomorrow to replace my port a cath. This will be my 3rd replacement in about 5 years. Hopefully this one will last me another two years.
This month is the beginning of Christmas designing time at my business Ballyhoo Creations. You always have to try and stay one step ahead of your competition but it never happens lol. That's OK though.
I've kept Nate at home for the last two weeks and while it's been fun I can tell that it's time for him to head back to school. For some reason after being home for a few days he becomes super bossy and ornery, nothing a few days at school can't fix.
So it's almost midnight and I have to be at the hospital early tomorrow. Depending on how I feel I'll try to upload some of the photos that we took in Nashville tomorrow.
Have a great one!!

First I want to apologize to those of you who read my blog. I've been very lax as of late about posting regularly. It's been due to a combination of going to school and a serious flare of my Crohn's Disease.
This past week things have felt like a downward spiral and I'm not sure what has set it off. Last Friday (Friday the 13th of course) I was on my way for my latest infusion in the clinical trial. Well as we are trying to back out of the driveway ..... nothing! The car would not move, so needless to say our car is in the shop as I type this getting a new transmission. Friday when that happened everything seemed to hit me all at once with me not feeling well, Wayne's knee injury, my uncle being sick, and now the car not working that I had a full blown panic attack and was unable to breathe. I have to say that that is a VERY scary thing to experience.
Wayne was finally able to get me calmed down and we borrowed a car to get to the hospital. Of course my blood pressure was sky high. I told the nurse that that was probably going to be my last infusion in the trial. I don't feel like I should waste medication that may be able to actually help someone else .. kwim? She said that she totally understood and that she agreed with my thinking as well. So next month I'll be talking to my GI about what steps to take next.
I'm waiting (on needles) to find out if I have been accepted into the nursing program. They will be sending out letters at the end of June, first of July so that is killing me too!
I've began a completely new redesign of my site Ballyhoo Creations as well. I'm really liking the new design and hope to have it completed soon. I've spoken with Kailani over at An Island Life about having a giveaway so I may try to line the two up to go with each other!
OK enough rambling for now. Hope you all are doing well and are staying cool or dry, depending on where you're at.

Here is a super cute new design called "Snips n Snails" from Ballyhoo Creations. This card features 4 photos (which can be modified) of your new baby. The light crisp green compliments the teal blue's along the bottom. The photos are currently in sepia, however they can be in black and white, color, color accent, etc. The card colors can also be changed to work for a girl or even multiples!

Coming soon to Ballyhoo Creations is a new card called Mini Thoughts. These cards can be used for any occasion such as birthdays, announcements, shower invitations, etc. The designs are only limited by your imagination. Baby Bites are 2x3.5 in size (like a business card) and are great for those who want to send out something small and simple, or even as an enclosure in another card or letter. These cards can be printed on both front and back. Prices start at $30 for a set of 50.

Have you waited till the last minute to order your Christmas cards? I am still accepting Christmas card orders for this holiday season. You must order soon though or you will not have enough time for printing, shipping to you and still be able to mail them out in time.
If you don't want to deal with the time crunch I can modify any design to be a New Year's Card.

Its that time again. Waking up at 4am to drink a cup of coffee while your car is warming outside in the driveway. You brush your hair back into a pony tail to keep it out of the way and you forget full face makeup and instead just put on mascara and lip gloss. You stock your car with drinks and simple quick snacks. You call your friend/mom/sister and tell them to be ready when you pull into their driveway. Its time for the mad dash of Black Friday sales and you know that if the store opens at 5am (hello Toys R Us) that you HAVE to be in the parking lot no later than 4:30 am!
The line extends out into the parking lot and around all the parked cars. The local police is posted at the front door to prevent fighting. You looked over the ads in the Thanksgiving paper and you are ready to go. You have your walkie talkies ready and your hitting the toy department while your sister/mom/friend hits up the electronics. The doors open you each grab a cart and off to the race. You see people running through the aisle to get that must have gift and you enjoy every moment of it.
So here's the good news. You don't have to wait till next week to plot your shopping adventure. Head on over to www.theblackfriday.com and check out all the sales TODAY!! Then on Thanksgiving you can relax a little longer and be ready for the mad dash at 4am on Friday.
Don't forget that I'll be having a Cyber Monday sale over at Ballyhoo Creations too! Will it be 20%, 30% or 40% off your order? That's one sale that you'll have to wait to see, but I promise that you will definitely want to come by and order all those cards and take in the discount!
